Daylight Savings

I changed the clock on the microwave today to reflect daylight savings time. Not sure why though. It’s usually flashing :13 seconds or some other random time from whoever got done using it last and you can’t see the time anyway. This is a definite pet peeve.

My niece once left :01 second flashing on the microwave after she heated up her tea. Yes, one second. She could not be bothered to wait one more second to allow the microwave to naturally return to its useful resting state as a timepiece. No, she opened the door just before. And left it that way. One second…

This is the time-equivalent of leaving one millimeter of milk in the jug or one square of toilet paper on the roll. The struggle is definitely real.

Though I may never know what time it is when I’m standing near the microwave, the days are getting longer and that’s nice. More daylight is nice. Hope is returning to the galaxy.
