Daryl

I was just checking out a segment of the podcast “Live from Daryl’s House” an independent music project of Daryl Hall of “Hall and Oates” fame.  Every month Daryl invites rock, pop, soul, country, and gospel musicians and singers to his house to perform a wide variety of music and provide it as a free video podcast.  Now, I may not have ever been a huge “Hall and Oates” fan, but Daryl Hall is undeniably talented and some of the performances on the podcast are outstanding.  Daryl’s voice is still fantastic and he’s 66 years old.  Pretty amazing and a true dedication to the love of the craft.

In this particular webisode, Daryl invited the “Blind Boys of Alabama” to his house – a group of four soul/gospel singers who are, as the name of their group would suggest, blind.  The segment begins with a shot of the four singers entering the house in single file with each man guiding the one behind him.  It’s very charming, warm, and friendly.  Each man is dressed in a tan sportscoat and are wearing dark cosmetic sunglasses.  As they enter the room, Daryl Hall is there to greet them.

First man in line from the “Blind Boy’s of Alabama”:  “Thank you for welcoming us into your home.“

Daryl Hall:  “Yes, it’s really great to see you… I mean, it’s great to have you here.”

Ooops!
